Destination     Ionian Islands: kefallonia island (or cefalonia): Pessada

Ionian Islands
Kefallonia
Pessada

Pessada holidays are based in a very small traditional Greek village with an uncommercialised beach and a small fishing harbour. Pessada is on the south coast of Kefalonia, 8 miles south-east of the capital Argostoli and just 5 miles from the airport. Pessada holidays are for those who want to get away from the crowds and stay in a small Kefalonia village, but without travelling a long way from the airport or popular southern Kefalonia resorts like Lassi and Skala. Pessada holiday amenities are limited to a simple shop and, unless things have changed, the village taverna serving fresh fish and Greek food. Buses run along the coast to the capital Argostoli. Holidays in Pessada can take advantage of its ferry connection to the island of Zante.

Pessada beach is an incredibly intimate simple stretch of sandy beach with rocks and steps leading down to the water. A series of secluded coves are good for sunbathing. Beautifully clear water provides excellent snorkelling possibilities. Nearby Agios Thomas beach is a favourite with children, with some modest beach facilities and a couple of tavernas. When holidays in Pessada get a little to peaceful you can visit Lassi, the island’s most popular resort, with two of Kefalonia’s most famous perfect sandy beaches.
