Thessalia

Larissa
Stomio

Stomio (Greek: Στόμιο) is a coastal town in central Greece (Thessaly), the capital city of the municipality of Evrymenes (Evrimenes) in the Larissa Prefecture. Stomio is connected with a road linking several villages by the Aegean Sea and the GR-1/E75 (Athens - Larissa - Thessaloniki) with an interchange in a form of the junction, its nearby interchange in a form of a freeway or motorway standard will be added.

The former name of Stomio was Tsagezi (Greek: Τσάγεζι). Its geographical spot combines the beauty of the mountain with the incomparable one of the sea. The dense vegetation of Mount Ossa (Kissavos) reaches the beaches of the Aegean Sea and the Pineios River (Thessaly) Delta. The ancient city Eurymenae (Erymnae) was in the Stomio area. A Byzantine period Greek Orthodox monastery (the Komnenian Monastery of Virgin Mary's Assumption & Saint Demetrius (Monastery of Komnenion) by Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos) is located near Stomio.
